THE 2015 NGO CONFERENCE AT THE UNITED NATIONS
Honoring the Past, Recognizing the Present, Imagining the Future
This year, UN DPI will not convene an annual conference. Friendship Ambassadors Foundation has joined with several Permanent Missions at the UN to present a special 70th Anniversary Celebratory Event and Conference this summer. All NGOs are invited to register. Special pre-conference NGO-led weekend events are planned throughout Manhattan, 22-23 August. The Conference will open on Monday, 24 August and will continue through Wednesday, 26 August.
The Global NGO Executive Committee (GNEC) was founded in 1962 to promote a closer working relationship between the United Nations and the non-governmental organizations (NGOs) associated with it. GNEC acts as a liaison between the NGO community and the UN's Department of Global Communications (DGC). GNEC provides strategic guidance to help NGOs become more effective partners of the UN.
