A long-time dedicated member of the NGO community, representing WIZO and Yad Sarah, Jonina Sutton contributed to efforts reaching beyond the goals of her own organizations. Her generosity and commitment were especially noted throughout her years of service on the NGO/DPI Executive Committee.
Her characteristic warmth and enthusiasm were intrinsic to the success of numerous Receptions in connection with the Annual DPI/NGO Conference in New York City. Always responding to requests for assistance and donating of her own time and resources, she embodied the values that we as NGOs aspire to promote throughout our communities internationally.
We will always remember her.
The Global NGO Executive Committee (GNEC) was founded in 1962 to promote a closer working relationship between the United Nations and the non-governmental organizations (NGOs) affiliated with it. GNEC acts as a liaison between the NGO community and the UN's Department of Global Communications (UNDGC). GNEC provides strategic guidance to help NGOs become more effective partners of the UN.
