Providing information and advice to NGOs interested in association with the United Nations Department of Public Information and creating awareness for increased DPI association have been my primary objectives thus far.
I am currently supporting the application for DPI association of the Inwelle Study and Resource Centre, an African based NGO committed to promoting educational, cultural, and vocational programmes, encouraging research, providing educational counseling, and encouraging creative and scholarly publishing.
In September 2013, I was inaugurated as National President of Medical Women’s Association of Nigeria (MWAN), an NGO affiliated with the Medical Women’s International Association. MWAN’s purpose is to expand the role of women in the achievement and maintenance of health throughout Nigeria, with a particular focus on extending assistance and support to women and children.
I have been in constant contact with Dr. Eleanor Nwadinobi, my predecessor as Regional NGO Coordinator. She has been an invaluable mentor and I plan to continue her efforts to strengthen and promote the goals of the United Nations Department of Public Information.

The Global NGO Executive Committee (GNEC) was founded in 1962 to promote a closer working relationship between the United Nations and the non-governmental organizations (NGOs) affiliated with it. GNEC acts as a liaison between the NGO community and the UN's Department of Global Communications (UNDGC). GNEC provides strategic guidance to help NGOs become more effective partners of the UN.
