UN DPI/NGO Conference
Dear NGO colleagues,
We would like to update you about the UN DPI/NGO Conference.
Usually, by this time of year, plans for the next UN DPI/NGO Conference would be well under way. However, although for the past two years we have been receiving several expressions of interest from Member States in various regions to host the Conference, we have not had a formal commitment.
Therefore, we do not anticipate convening a Conference this year, 2013. Presently, we are in the process of exploring Host Countries that would be interested in hosting the Conference in 2014. However, if we do not get a commitment, we will look into the possibility of convening the UN DPI/NGO Conference in 2014 at UN Headquarters in New York City.
We would like to assure you that DPI/NGO Relations and the NGO/DPI Executive Committee will endeavour to keep you informed of all new developments that may occur in the coming months regarding the UN DPI/NGO Conference. In the meantime, we encourage you to visit regularly our appropriate websites – http://outreach.un.org/ngorelations/ or http://globalngoexec.org/ – for ongoing news and information.
Best regards,
21 May 2013
