12th YOUTH ASSEMBLY AT THE UNITED NATIONS
7, 8, 9 AUGUST
The Youth Assembly will take place on 7, 8, and 9 August in the UN General Assembly Hall. It will feature the new Secretary General’s Special Envoy for Youth, Ahmad Alhindewi. It will also feature a Welcome by Permanent Representative Simona Miculescu of Romania, followed by three days of activities focused on youth leadership in support of the 8 UN Millennium Development Goals. The Resolution Project will once again award up to $3000 per project and two years of mentoring to university level delegates at the YA, for new social ventures. Jane Goodall and others will deliver special Plenary Addresses. Several UN Mission visits are planned and many special events will be available to participants during the three-day Assembly.
The 12th Youth Assembly at the United Nations will take place on 7, 8, and 9 August in the UN General Assembly Hall. It is now open for individual and group registrations at www.youthassembly-un.org. Participants may also arrange to stay at Pace University along with other YA@UN delegates; questions may be directed to apply4ya@faf.org. The registration deadline is June 28.

The Global NGO Executive Committee (GNEC) was founded in 1962 to promote a closer working relationship between the United Nations and the non-governmental organizations (NGOs) affiliated with it. GNEC acts as a liaison between the NGO community and the UN's Department of Global Communications (UNDGC). GNEC provides strategic guidance to help NGOs become more effective partners of the UN.
